Horsforth Brewery Creators Market

By Melissa-Jane Binns

Horsforth Brewery, a small micro-brewery hidden away on New Side Road, bringing small local business together and allowing people to get their names out there. October 9th, 2021, they held a creators market for this exact reason, with stalls about vegan bakes to candles and wax melts and even dog accessories and treats.

Jay, from Bakes by Jay, said that the reason why she chose to be at the creators market was because “it’s a really good opportunity to get my name out there and gets me into the local community”, she also went onto say that “it is a really good way to go exploring and meet new people”. All her bakes are homemade, and you can order online at www.bakesbyjay.co.uk, they are all vegan and she also does seasonal items. You can even do some Halloween cupcake decorating with her at 6pm on October 28th and for more information about this event you can reach her on her email: bakesbyjay@gmail.com or by messaging her on Instagram at @bakesbyjayleeds.

Charlotte, from Charlotte’s boutique candles, creates amazing wax melts and candles and was at the market partly because she has done a collaboration with the brewery making a few candles that smell like their beers. “Originally it started as a side project alongside getting my degree but overtime it has built up and become more popular.” Charlotte then continues to say how she has been doing this for two years and makes everything at home. As well as doing the collaboration with the brewery, she also makes seasonal waxes and candles and had anticipated on doing 100 advent calendars, but they are becoming extremely popular and is going to be making many more. You can order with her through her website at https://charlottesboutique.co.uk/ or through her Instagram @charlottes_boutique_candles_.

Nadia, from Moo Moo and Bear, is a local to the area and also a part of the Horsforth group of independence. Selling a range of dog accessories and treats from collars and bowties to different treats our four-legged friends could wish for. She creates all her products in her garden shop at home and has a large range of products including a Christmas range being released soon. You can find more of her products on Instagram at @moomooandbearuk or on their website https://www.moomooandbear.co.uk/.

The brewery itself is open Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday until 10pm and on a Friday and Saturday until 11pm, and with so many more opportunities coming up soon they are definitely one to watch. They also offer 10% off to students so pop down for a visit to the tap room for a drink or to take beers away and be sure you will have a warm and welcoming experience.
